Ladies 3rd XI

The ladies 3s are a perfect example of a faultlessly balanced hybrid of high quality hockey skills (some), speed and agility (a bit), 'legendary' coaching (erm), the ability to hold our drink (none) and have lots of fun (v. high). You could liken us to an icy cool martini - some big slosh of spirits with a turkish olive on a stick at the top. But I wouldn't recommend it. LGB regulars, you may see the L3s in fancy dress on a pub crawl or doing their own specially designed 'swimming warm-up' on the side of a pitch near Brent Cross. You'll know us in the clubhouse as a) the foxy girls, b) the red-faced girls (regular team saunas) or c) the drunk girls. No further comments.

Season round-up 2005/6
Looking to build on two successive league titles, the newly promoted Ladies 3s started the 2005-06 season with an influx of fantastic new players and an enthusiastic new coach in Men's 1s captain Timur Asar. Any doubts that the new-look team would struggle in Division 2 were quickly dispelled as the squad put together a formidable run of eight wins out of eight to the Christmas break with an irresistible blend of tough tackling and sharp attacking play (invariably followed by lengthy sessions in the club bar and other local watering holes). Despite two niggling loses at the turn of the year, the team finished the season with 13 wins out of 16 games, winning the division by a mighty seven points. Bring on Division 1!
